Rib Retubing
At DinghyPro, we specialize in rib retubing. DinghyPro offers factory replacement tubes, also sometimes referred to as Collars or Sponsons, for many brands of rigid hull inflatables including AB, Avon, Bombard,Birg, Caribe, Novurania, Zodiac, Zodiac Hurricane and more
A new tubeset cost can vary greatly by brand, style and age of the rib. Many Zodiac Rib models are assembled using a slide on tube system which can result in a lower labor cost portion of retubing than many other brands. Most ribs are built using a glue on system where the tubes are adhered to the hull using a layered attachment system to bond the tubes to the hull. Most jobs are done at our shop located in Essex CT. We, routinely install new tubes on ribs for the military, first responders, marine towing agencies, and many recreational users too.
However in most cases it is not cost effective to retube your average 8-11′ open rib. For example the cost of a replacement tube and needed labor on a 9′ Avon for example, generally comes close to replacement cost. On the other hand , installing a new tube on a rib such as a 14′ Novurania, can save thousands over replacement cost.

After
Retubing your rib can be done even when the tubes are no longer available from the manufacturer. We work with a couple of custom tube manufacturers to offer high quality replacement Hypalon tubes when no longer available from the original manufacturer. For larger ribs we can also offer Polyurethane tubes by WING inflatables. In addition to traditional inflatable tubes, we are now able to offer replacement foam collars for larger commercial ribs.
Rib retubing prices can be quoted on request. We will need your Year, make and model of your rib. On Bombard and Zodiac models we also need the type(serie) number.
